Google screwed WidgetBucks
Have you tried Googling for WidgetBucks or widgetbucks.com before? Now you will never see them again in Google search result. They have been banned by Google and remove from the Google’s database.
Here’s a proof. When you search widgetbucks, you found nothing about the WidgetBucks but site blogging about WidgetBucks.
The bad is, even if you search widgetbucks.com, you still find nothing.
WHY?
This is because WidgetBucks was being bad by having people link to their main page with the backlink tag in their little money making widget. WidgetBucks realise that they are wrong and removed the backlink tag in their widget and if you are still using the old widget, you can now re-install the new one. I think they’ve learned a lesson, just like JohnChow asking people to link to him in order to get a free link back. That was an old story though.
Does that means you can’t make money from WidgetBucks anymore?
The answer is no. You still can make money from WidgetBucks, as long as you got reader in your site then you will definitely be making money from it. So don’t worry about it. If you haven’t join WidgetBucks, join now because it helps you make money. =)
1 thing, link campaign might me harmful because Google will penalize your site anytime. But just let it be naturally, people will definitely link to your site if they found it’s interesting.

From the picture, it seems like it was a sponsored link. (And they didn’t rank that high in the search?)
