Jailbreak 1.1.2 iPod touch / iPhone

I helped my friend to jailbreak his 1.1.2 iPod touch and it’s damn easy. I actually bricked it, but I manage to restore the firmware back. I bricked his iPod touch because I downgraded to the wrong firmware, I actually tried to install/downgrade iPhone’s 1.1.1 firmware on an iPod touch, it fails and I have to restore the machine again. Pretty cool, after restoring, it’s just like a new iPod touch.

It works like this for 1.1.2 iPod touch / iPhone to jailbreak.

  1. Downgrade to 1.1.1.
  2. Jailbreak it.
  3. Have fun or
  4. Install Oktoprep
  5. Upgrade to 1.1.2 again
  6. Follow to readme in jailbreakme.com (run a program on your windows/mac)

More detail of the tutorial :

  1. Download the 1.1.1 firmware from Apple site. iPod touch / iPhone (Download with Mozilla Firefox or if you use Safari, rename the .zip to .ipsw)
  2. Connect iPod touch / iPhone to iTunes 7.5, hold the shift key or the option key and click the “Check For Update” button. It will open up the File dialog. Browse for the 1.1.1 firmware, select it and click OK. iTunes will now install / downgrade to 1.1.1 firmware.
  3. Now you have a 1.1.1 iPod touch / iPhone, start Safari and navigate to http://jailbreakme.com. Click “Install AppSnapp”, wait for the download and your iPod touch / iPhone is then jailbroken.

DONE! You can play with 3rd party application now.

Additional, if you want to upgrade to 1.1.2 and jailbreak it, follow the instruction here.

I think I’m elligible for Nuffnang Glitterati

nuffnang-elite2

Nuffnang just launch a new program lately, it’s called the Nuffnang Glitterati Club. Actually not just launch, they are going to launch it on 13th January 2008. It’s pretty cool cause you can earn more if you are a Glitterati exclusive member. With Glitterati on now, there will be CPC (Click-per-Cost) on the advertisement place in your site. Exclusive Nuffnangers get RM0.25 per click minimum while non-exclusve Nuffnanger gets only RM0.15. So it’s good to be a Exclusive Nuffnanger.

It’s very easy for you to be a exclusive Nuffnanger. As long as your blog don’t have other advertisement from other ad network tat originates from South East Asia, than you are a exclusive Nuffnanger. =) That’s great, because I already dump Adverlets few weeks ago and I am standing on Nuffnang side.

Exclusive Nuffnanger Benefits :

  • Higher CPC rate.
  • Payment terms are 30 days from end of month requested.
  • Eligible for advertorial opportunities.
  • 70% of prizes to Exclusive.

Cool right? Stick with only 1 local ad network is good, but if you are doing good with few, so just stick with what you are doing. As I’m fine with Nuffnang at the moment. Cause my blogs doesn’t earn a lot yet. I’m cool, you’re cool. Have fun with it on 13th January. =)

Sony Mylo 2 is cooler now

Sony recently announces the Sony Mylo 2 at CES 08. It’s the successor of Mylo, it’s cool because it has a huge 3.5″ screen like the T200. Though, it’s just another Nokia Internet Tablet like thingy. You suft the Internet on it, listen to some music, YouTube, IM and some other Internet stuff. This time, it comes with a 1.3 camera. Nothing much you can do with a 1.3 megapixel camera, you can’t video chat with people, only some “enough-to-be-print-size” photo.

The image “http://www.ireviewelectronics.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/10/sony-mylo-personal-communicator.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
Previous Mylo model.

Mylo 2 is way better than the previous Mylo. Main upgrade I like is the big touch screen and with flash video compatibility, meaning you can watch pr0n on demand. Haha.

Anyway, I think getting an Eee PC if you want to connect to the Internet so often, or get an iPhone if you want to put in your pocket will definitely be better. Surfing the Internet on a small screen still doesn’t feels better than surfing on a laptop screen.

Lastly, if Mylo 2 does have phone support, than I think it’s a good buy. =)

I will be following the Consumer Electronic Show

http://cullrich.files.wordpress.com/2007/08/ces_logo2-1.jpg

I first know about the CES last year when I read about it in the local newspaper. Before that, I only know about 2 tech related conference and that is E3, Tokyo Game Show and Comic Con, those are more about games.

I am looking forward to CES although I don’t get a chance to visit the show floor at Las Vegas, but I will follow the news via the Internet. You know, Internet is borderless and we can get the information we want right in our hand at anytime, anywhere. Haha.

I so want to go to any of these technology related conference some days, in the future. There will be so much fun I believe, be the first to get my hands on the latest gadget that nobody here in Malaysia touch before, latest news, meet some friends there. Cool huh?

CES 2008, I am interested in some new stuff to be announce and introduce.

    • PSP getting Skype support. [via slashgear]
    • New Eee PC, with bigger screen and capacity.
    • HD-DVD and Blu Ray stuff. Cheap player?
    • New Nokia phone.
    • Large capacity and affordable flash hard disk drive.
    • New technology display/TV.

A lot to catch up, since this CES is a big event of every year. Subscribed to a lot of RSS feed, so I can get the news easily. Tune in to this blog, and I post some of the CES news I know here. =)
