I have recently bought a new phone, I have a Maxis and Digi line, but my primary line is still Maxis which is for calling and receiving calls from friends and family. Sometimes, I do blog on the go, post some tweets and check the mail with the phone.
However, somehow I can’t get the Internet and data to work on the N95 with my Maxis line. I have already activated by 3G and GPRS data connection, have all the settings but it says “Packet Data : Connection Not Allow” when I am trying to connect to the Internet with 3G or EDGE GPRS.
I went to the Maxis service center and the people are noob, they just download the setting agains and asked me to wait for a text message contain the data setting, then restart my phone. I wait, the setting came, restarted and it’s still not working.
I get frustrated and called Maxis up. After some guidance from the lady, I am now able to connect to the Internet again. It’s pretty easy to edit the setting, it’s something to do with the connection setting on your phone.

- Press menu key.
- Go to Tools > Setting > Connection
- Scroll to the last one or just press up key. You will see APN control. A pop up message will appear “Connection restriction….”
- Press Option > Deactivate Restriction.
- PIN2 is 1234.
- When it’s says deactivated/inactive, restart your phone.
- Turn on again, surf the net now.
Pretty easy right? Try it now. If it does not work, call Maxis at 123. That’s what I always do.

WHOA!!!
I have the N85 and I nearly cracked my head trying to figure out why my Celcom SIM card works and the Maxis one does not although it did on an older SE K618i!
I can’t tell u how much I appreciate your info on Maxis’s silly little hiccup and their steadfast refusal to provide the PIN2 and PUK2 codes!
Cheers!!!!

Nick,
Thanks for the info! The Maxis site was no help. All they gave were the general MMS settings sent to the phone, and I too got the “Packet data not allowed” message.. Your info got my Nokia 5800 working on MMS in no time! Thanks again!

This is so great! Thank you so much! I managed to get it done in no time!
I also actually googled some pages, got this setting by sitting in front of my notebook. no need to go to Maxis centre at all. here it is:-
0.. Dial *136# you need to wait for the confirmation SMS telling you that your 3G has been activated. If still havent got please do it again. Then follow the steps below.
1. delete all the settings on your phone. EVERYTHING
2. request for new settings (you can use the *100#–>settings
3. Save the settings and set as default
4. restart your phone

Some time ago, I needed to buy a good house for my firm but I did not have enough money and couldn’t purchase anything. Thank God my comrade suggested to take the credit loans at reliable bank. Therefore, I did so and was happy with my bank loan.
