Samsung DVD-1080PK : Design and Remote Control
By Nicholas Chan on Nov 11, 2008 in Home Entertainment, Review

First of all thanks to Samsung for allowing me to do a review for the new DVD player, the Samsung DVD-1080PK. Well, I love movies, I love DVD and I love watching them on my comfy bed. Currently have a Samsung LCD TV and a Panasonic DVD cum Home Theater System in my room. Cut that crap and let’s get into some pictures of the new Samsung DVD-1080PK shall we?

From first glance, it’s a all black DVD player with piano black coating on the front. It’s looks like a very cool player, it maybe a Blu-ray or maybe not but unfortunately, it’s just a DVD player that upscale video into Full HD.

I like its black colour because it matches my black LCD TV a lot. The player is a lot slimmer than my Panasonic DVD player.
In term of design, it’s just a typical rectangle player but its simple looking design and the colour makes it looks classy in the living room.

There’s not a lot of button on it, there’s a little cover that will flip open which reveal the USB slot of ripping music onto a flash drive and the 2 karaoke mic input.
The only down side is, elders which eyesight problem may not know how to operate this because it’s all black and they will hardly see which part of the player is actually a button and which part is not. That doesn’t really bother a lot because there’s always a remote control.

All Samsung’s remotes are identical. The second one from the left is this DVD player’s, next to it to the right is my LCD TV and the last one on the right is a Samsung’s home theater system’s remote. I have a few Samsung machines at home. Haha.
