There’s a new camcorder added in the Flip Video series and it’s the Flip Video MinoHD. That’s a little bit of dream comes true for me because previous that when Kodak releases their Zi6, I was wondering “Where’s the Flip Video High Def?”. Flip Video is a cool budget, tiny little camcorder that is easy to use and for everyone. It has a very cool design and good quality video comparing with others budget camcorder. I have seen a lot of video podcaster and blogger using this.
As for the Kodak Zi6, it’s maybe a good cam, budget one that shoots HD, the down side when comparing to the Flip Video MinoHD is that it’s huge and there’s no 4GB internal storage.
Back to the Flip Video MinoHD. They boost the video recording resolution to 720p which is a high def format, with a tiny little 1.5″ screen which I don’t really like, have a 4GB internal memory which can shoots up to 60 minutes or homemade video.
It’s easy to operate with a big red button on the center which si for record and stop, there’s also buttons for play, pauce, fast forward/rewind and delete, it’s all touch sensitive. It uses a lithium battery which juice up to 2 hours of shooting. For instant transferring, there’s a pop-up USB head for your PC and Mac.
Talking about it’s bad point, the retailling price for Flip Video MinoHD Camcorder, 60 Minutes (Black)
on Amazon is US$229.99 which is pretty un-budget. If the price is below US$200, it will be almost perfect.
Anyway, this is a good release. Now everyone can shoot HD. I am gonna need a faster Internet speed to load high def video in Youtube.
Unfortunately, till today, I have find no any of the Flip Video Series in South East Asia.
