I gave up on Nokia Lifeblog

DSC03631 by you.

I thought of Lifeblog was cool. When I try to download Lifeblog software from Nokia’s site, it had turned into Nokia Photos. It only sync your phone’s photo and video and then organize it in a timeline view. The problem is it doesn’t sync well, I always get an error on the computer and also on the phone. It just don’t work.

As for the original Nokia Lifeblog (I downloaded it on some archive site) which I believe Nokia has discontinued developing it, it will sync your messages, text, notes, photos and videos and arrange it in a timeline. It’s more like a a backup and a phone log. However it also can’t sync and it makes my phone slow.

Perhaps I got too many things on my phone? I don’t think so. I have been trying for so many solution, reinstall program, refresh Lifeblog on the phone, restart my PC, restart my connection, restart my phone but none of them helps. So in the end, I uninstalled Nokia Lifeblog and also Nokia Photos, forget about Lifeblog.

I want to use Lifeblog to backup my text message into my computer so I can view it when I need to. I can choose export all text messages into my computer via PC Suite in *.csv file but then little problem is it can’t read my Chinese messages. That’s the problem of my log being not complete.

Just forget about this program and wait until Nokia announce support for it. It sucks at the moment. It could be a good software but then not many Nokia users use it.

PC Hang at BIOS Boot

IMG_3945

I ran Windows Update and it require me to restart my PC, so I restarted. I turn on my PC 24/7, I don’t shut down but only goes into sleep when I am not running anything in the background. Back to after restarting my PC, my PC surprisingly hang at the bios, the activity light on the CPU was not blinking and it just stuck there. Nothing I can do. Can’t access the boot menu, bios setup or anything which is bios screen related.

It’s probably not the software problem because nothing will mess with the on board flash setting. So it’s most probably is the hardware problem. But why it hang after restart but not during the PC was running. Don’t understand.

After Googling and know about it’s the hardware problem. I remove my RAM, my GPU and my Linksys Wireless N PCI card and replug it in again. In the end, my computer is running smoothly again and no more bios hang. Still got no idea why it happened. Any idea?

It’s fast, but still not fast enough

DSC03629

My Internet Service Provider is TMNet Streamy, subscribing to RM88 1mbps download 384kbps upload package. Seriously, I don’t really get the above speed always, it’s only sometimes and once in a while. I wonder why can’t the speed be constant.

It’s slow, yes, sometimes, but no extremely fast anytime before. I have to stick with Streamyx because it’s a wired connection and the consistency is better than a wireless broadband although wireless broadband here offers faster speed. Moreover, I do torrent and downl0ad a lot, so I am forced to stick with the only “reliable” broadband service provider.

Do you know our neighbouring country offers broadband speed up to 50mbps via cable? And we still stuck with the fastest 4mbps on cable.

Macbook to HDTV

How do I connect a White Macbook to the Samsung 32″ HDTV without DVI cable but HDMI cable?

IMG_3888

It’s all done with 3 things. The Display Port to DVI adapter, then the DVI to HDMI cable and in the end the Belkin HDMI cable which connect straight to the TV’s HDMI input.

It’s running like a charm without any setting. There’s no need any setting with the Macbook. One of the good of the Mac is it detect external display automatically and no need to change the display setting. I now watches high def MKV movie with VLC Player on via the Mac on my TV, running at 1368×768 resolution. Pretty!

I like Flower and Luminues Supernova, it’s mini game and simple which = to fun.

The TV is a Samsung 32″ 720p HD TV, unfortunately it’s not full HD.

White 2.4Ghz MacBook. It’s an all time beauty. I love Mac but I am still waiting to get one. Perhaps I will have one when I go into college next year. The clock is a Pixel Saturn II clock what I bought in Guangzhou for 190RMB. Pretty right?
