I still don’t have an iPhone 3GS. I want one! Went to check out at the store and the Apple person told me that they don’t have extra units in store for walk-in customer. People who want one have to book it and wait for one or two weeks. It’s global shortage right now and he expected that there will be a lot of iPhone coming in in mid September.
I can’t just walk in any of the Apple or Maxis store to get an iPhone because my current Maxis phone number is under the SME (Small Medium Enterprise) plan, sub from my dad’s company line, so if I want an iPhone, I have to contact the Maxis SME agent to work out for me.

Anyway, I just discovered another cool stuff about the iPhone 3GS which is the voice control in foreign language. I just found out that there’s Cantonese dialect support. I speak Cantonese at home so can’t wait to speak in this dialect to the iPhone! Damn cool man!

Well what is worse is that now Maxis only allows those who sign up contacts to make a booking. Yes that is right. The hotlink plan and iData 1 (no contact) have been abolished. I would say plain discrimination and blood sucker. What is the point that they rolled out the Hotlink plan and published scam like “Choose a data plan for as low as RM 30 with your existing postpaid plan and you’ll enjoy the iPhone at special prices.”, when they only allow BOOKING for contracts. By the way, you don’t enjoy iPhone at special prices if you take up iData 1 (RM30). You are paying the full retail price. Total scam!!!
Yes you may prioritise the contact takers but at least give us a “right” to place an order and stop telling us to wait for 2 months until there are surplus in the supplies. We all know that iPhone’s product cycle is only one year, if we were to take up let say in end Sept, ¾ of the product cycle is then only remaining. Btw there are rumours that an 8GB iPhone 3gs is on the way in Sept. Maxis really screwed up everything they do. SIGH…..
