Mytubo Is “Instagram For Android” – Day by day, I am waiting for Instagram for Android. I have been waiting since N years already. Hahaha. Instagram is my favourite and super-like apps on iOS and I very hope it will be port to Android. Recently, Instagram announced that they are starting work on the Android app, good news right? But at the mean time, I need alternative app or Instagram-like app on the Android to ease the wait and that’s Mytubo.

Mytubo is a Chinese-made app that has similar feature like Instagram which you can share photo with add-on filter to social networks and Mytubo network. You can also hashtag your photos to join photo community.

What I like about Mytubo is the variety of filter. It also gives you the choice to pick between square or wide photo format, as well as to include frame in the photo or not. You can also Like people’s photo. Besides that you can share your photo to Facebook, Flickr, Tumblr, Twitter and other Chinese social sharing site too.

In your profile page, it organizes your photos by date which makes it easier for viewing. People can follow you as fans too. The main page shows random hashtag photos of others and Mytubo has a special features which is Squads which you can join. Basically, it’s a hashtag pool of photos named Squad.

Best Twitter App On Android – TweetDeck - Despite the redesign on Twitter 4.0 app on Android, I pick TweetDeck as my favourite Twitter app on Android. It’s free, the theme is dark and the best part of all is the easy access to different column with just a swipe. Same as on the desktop, TweetDeck classifies different tweets into column, like Main Timeline, Replies, Private Message, List and people who I want to follow.

This makes reading tweets easier and faster for me. On the official Twitter app, I would have to press this and that to go to List, or to read a friend’s tweet. With TweetDeck, I can just swipe through the column for all the tweets that I want to read.

TweetDeck on Android also has two widgets that can be placed on your home screen which give you faster access to TweetDeck and to compose your Tweet, as well as a camera button for you to shoot and tweet.

DiGi Tomorrow Network – Upgrading To LTE – DiGi is currently upgrading their network to the 4G LTE network and it’s a good news. Meaning that super high speed Internet access will come to mobile very soon. LTE is the true 4G network, it’s not like the same as P1 4G WiMAX or Yes 4G Broadband, LTE is the next generation’s mobile network. Heard about GSM? LTE will be the replacement of GSM. Heard about TM’s Unifi fiber optic network? LTE will be like fiber optic for your mobile.

Well, there’s no exact date of LTE launch by DiGi in Malaysia but what is known is that they are upgrading their cell tower and network throughout year 2012 and will be ready by 2013. Another telco that will be providing LTE is Maxis.

It’s rather slow here in Malaysia as Hong Kong and Singapore has already launched their LTE service. However, to fully utilize LTE, one must have a LTE-enabled phone.

Ladies and gentleman, I am proud to show you the photos of the unboxing of the latest version, 2011 version of Apple MacBook Pro. =D Yes people, I just bought a MacBook Pro lately because my old White MacBook was failing on me. I bought via online through the Apple Online Store and through the education discount so it’s cheaper.

Some asked me why I don’t get at the Apple Campus Experience Store in my campus so I can bring it home right away and the reason is because I want to customize the display of the MacBook Pro. The original display is 1440×900 and I want to upgrade to high resolution 1680×1050. It’s only another RM300 (100US$) top up which total up is RM6474 (2150US$). It took them 5 days to deliver and shipped.

The address I put was my mom’s office cause I was afraid that when it’s here, I am not at home. The delivery via DHL was pretty fast as there’s not really a problem at the custom and airport. It’s transported from Shanghai – Hong Kong – Shen Zhen – Kuala Lumpur – Penang.

Actually I was checking the delivery status day by day and on last Friday, as usual I check through the status page and surprisingly saw it says “Delivered and signed by (SOMEONE)”. I was so excited and quickly jumped up from bed, get freshen up and went to the office to collect and unbox it.

It’s my first time unboxing a MacBook Pro and I was so excited and happy. I was just doing it slowly.

Apple just wrapped and packaged it so well where everything in the box was so organized and nicely placed. I very salute them, it’s so unlike other laptops as they are just in a box with form. The Apple’s package was different, the adapter, the manual and the cable was placed very neatly and nicely in the box.

Today I want to introduce you guys a new messaging app that I have been using lately which is quite addictive and fun. It’s like WhatsApp on the mobile but instead of sending text, it sends voice.

TalkBox is a voice messaging application for the iOS and Android device and it sends voice message. It has bubbled messaging system and works like a walkie-talkie because of it’s “Push to Talk” feature. Besides only sending voice message, you can also send photos too, at the same time sharing your location. The app finds your contact through Facebook account, you can also add other TalkBox user with your TalkBox user name too.

Another great feature of it is the group chat which allow you to send your voice message to several friends.

Android app just released few days ago and now iOS can now talk with Android. It’s fast and easy to use and truly recommend this app.

Do you know about the latest Yes 4G Broadband by YTL the cement company in Malaysia? It’s a rival to the P1 4G and it’s just released not long ago. Early review is that the speed is pretty fast but somehow it’s not worth the value for heavy Internet user. It’s only for light user and it’s you pay what you use, charging at 9sen per 3MB which also equivalent to 1 minute voice or 1 SMS.

The down side of the latest broadband provider is that they only have TWO retail stores in Malaysia and that is both in Klang Valley, one in Lot 10, Bukit Bintang and another is at KL Sentral. Somehow, according to the website, you can find Yes modem and registration at computer shop. Perhaps it’s still new, I believe there will be more official Yes stores coming soon.

I visited their flagship store on the ground floor of Lot 10 shopping mall recently. It’s a playground for gadget lover because there are many Internet gadget to play with like the iPad, mobile phones, Mac, PCs and more. The big LED cube outside the mall really attracts passers-by to take a lot. There’s also the “touchwall” where it is a huge touch screen that you can touch and get interactions like weather and news.

Putting many gadgets at there attracts people to come and play with. During the moment when I was visiting the store, only the Yes Huddle and Yes Go dongle were on sale, the Yes 4G phone was not available yet, and it was said to be available during December which mean some where this month. I can see that the phone is made by Samsung but unfortunately, there’s only one 4G phone. Frankly, it’s not a pretty phone, I prefer a touchscreen one.

Although there are many gadget to play with, they lock their browser to only surf Yes website, that’s kinda boring and I can’t do speedtest of Yes. OMG.

I believe the flagship store is inspired by Apple’s Store with an open concept where people can try out their product. It’s a cool place to visit.
