Facebook Buys Instagram, What Do You Think? – News just reported about Facebook buying the social mobile photography app – Instagram for freaking 1 billion US$! That’s a big sum of money. For a company which has less than 10 people, and producing an app that has more than 15 million users around the world and with no profit (at the moment), that’s really a surprise that Facebook would pay US$1b for it.

Well, I think Instagram itself can be better without the acquisition, but then US$1b is a big money. Soon, you will see more Instagram photos on Facebook, Facebook for sure will tweak the very special app to be usable on all device, and desktop, Instagram will be another photo-editing app instead of a social network (that’s not cool).

Joy SmartFit 3 Back Cover For New iPad – iPad Smart Cover is not enough for protection, it’s for the front only, so I need something to protect the back of the iPad as I scared it will get scratches easily. I didn’t want to hide the beautiful logo of Apple so I picked a transparent back cover for it, it’s Joy SmartFit 3 (S$49). There’s a Joy logo on it, if without, it will be perfect. It’s very thin, but one down side is it add a little bit weight on the iPad. Anyway, I’m liking it as a protection.

My New 32GB iPad Wifi + 4G – Oh yeah! I guess I am the first among my friend to own the New iPad. Haha. I am loving my New iPad right now, utilizing every bit of it and I think this is a perfect buy. Last weekend was the launch of the New iPad around the world, and our neigbouring country – Singapore is in one of the launching country too. My brother who is at Singapore bought 2 units, one for himself and one for me, then I went to Singapore to collect from him. He bought from Singtel (a telco in Singapore) shop in Singapore.

It’s a 32GB Wifi + 4G version. Although it’s stated 4G, it will not be usable in Asia as there’s no LTE in Malaysia yet, even though there is LTE in the future, the 4G is only supported for the LTE in the United States. Was thinking of getting the 16GB version but then I realised that 32GB will be an ideal choice because I might need the iPad to backup my photos when I’m on travel, and the app for iPad is kinda big in size.

In addition, I bought a Smart Cover (Leather Tan) with it as it was a special deal, selling at only S$68 purchase-with-purchase. Cheaper than original S$98.

So far, it’s doing very good to me, despite report about heating up and wifi problem, I find that that’s not really a problem to me. It’s not that hot, the wifi is good, the system is fast, screen is awesome but what I love the most is the 5-megapixel camera. =D

Some friend ask me about when it will be released in Malaysia, I expect April, first or 2nd week of April.

Apple “iPad 3″ Event On 7th March Confirmed – Mark your calendar, March 7th, 2012, will be the day Apple announces the upcoming, most anticipating Apple iPad 3. The event will be held at Yerba Beuna Center for the Arts Theater in San Fransisco.

I am so excited now. Apple gives us a tag line of “We have something you really have to see. And touch.” Any idea what they are hinting? Retina display on iPad 3? What else. =D Set you alarm at 1am, 8th March 2012, Malaysia time to follow the keynote. Looking forward to Tim Cook’s first product launch too. Kinda miss Steve Jobs.

Waze – Fun Social Traffic Report And Navigation – Just downloaded Waze yesterday from the Android Market and found out that it’s pretty fun, cool and useful! Waze is actually a social-centric traffic app which reports traffic updates, navigation and gets socialize with other user.

Instead of posting to Twitter and Facebook that which area is having congestion or accident, you can use Waze to report on the situation and update other user, vice versa, you can check for traffic info at your area.

Besides, you can also Check In to Foursquare, update a police trap, just saying Hi for fun 0r join a local Waze group. Waze makes driving and updating traffic fun as you get a My Waze profile which you will collect points for ranking like Foursquare.

The best part of this app is Waze is available on Apple AppStore, Android Market, BlackBerry and Nokia for free. One down side is it runs your GPS and data all the time and be sure you have a power cable connected to it while driving.

Video: Samsung Galaxy Note Street Challenge VS iPhone – Samsung has just come out with another video poking fun at Apple iPhone user. I believe Apple fans and iPhone user will be annoyed by the video. Somehow, I find it funny.

In this video, Samsung called it “Street Challenge” which showcases the Galaxy Note against other smartphone user (iPhone) and asks them if their phone can do things the Galaxy Note can.

Obviously the iPhone user is an actor, but then I find it’s cool. HAHA.

Video: Steve Jobs Life In Facebook Timeline – A Singaporean web and mobile developer has made a Facebook Timeline profile for the Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs which tells the story of Steve Jobs from the day he’s born to the day he passed away.

It’s a nice way to learn and read more about Steve Jobs, unfortunately, the profile has been taken down after a while of online at Facebook. Not many people has really seen the Facebook Timeline profile. No worry, you still can get a chance to take a look at it, but is through the screenshot video. Check the video out below.

Apple iPad 3 – Coming On March 7, 2012 – Hey guys! Mark your calendar! It’s the time of the year again, sadly there’s no Steve Jobs this year, he is resting in peace, but Tim Cook is cool too, but the coolest thing of all, the Apple iPad 3 will be releasing on 7th March 2012.

I am so excited for the Apple event where the new Apple iPad 3 will be introduced. I am using an old Apple iPad 1 and is currently looking for to upgrade to a better tablet. I was almost wanted to buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 but thank god Apple is going to release the iPad 3.

Rumors highlight of the Apple iPad 3 are:

• Support 4G LTE - Currently there’s no LTE in Malaysia, Maxis and Digi are working on it, so perhaps it’s a LTE + GSM version.
• Higher resolution display - A better high dpi Retina display for the iPad.
• Longer battery life - Apple iPad is praised for high battery life, but increasing of the battery life makes iPad stands out from others too.
• Better camera – I am looking forward to this too as using iPad to snap photo is very cool.
• A6 Quad Core – Some say is a better dual core, some say it’s quad core, nevertheless, A6 will be a powerful processor with a strong graphic output.
• Thicker – Don’t be surprised, it’s expected to be thicker than iPad 2 for only a mm which is not really noticeable.
• Smaller size - Another version of iPad with a smaller size might appear given that many 7″ tablets are doing great in the market.

Try Messages App From OS X Mountain Lion Now – The new version of OS X is coming, and it’s called the Mac OS X Mountain Lion. Apple is now calling the OS X instead of Mac OS X. Sounds cool, they are trying to differentiate betweet Mac hardware and OS X software.

How To Reformat & Reinstall Mac – People who are using Windows PC are always familiar with the term – reformat. Everytime the computer run slows or crash oftenly, they will reformat their PC to reinstall a fresh copy of Windows OS. We seldom hear about this on the Mac.

I have a old MacBook White that is 4 years old, it’s running very slow right now, the whole HDD is a mess, all the documents are so messy that it’s so hard to organize and my Windows partition is corrupted. The only thing I can do to clear thing up is to reformat and reinstall a fresh copy of Mac.

So here’s how to reformat and reinstall Mac OS on your MacBook, iMac, Mac Mini or Mac Pro. It’s very easy, you do not need to go into the boot menu.

1. Insert Mac OS X disc that comes with your Mac.
2. Backup important documents.
3. Turn off your Mac. (Restart)
4. Hold the ‘C’ key while turning on your Mac.
5. Wait for the installation screen of Mac OS X.
6. Follow the on-screen instruction.
7. Grab a coffee, drinks, or do something and wait. It will takes about half an hour or more.
8. Done.
