Oh yeah people. Apple didn’t announce anything about iPhone 4G or OS 4.0 so which means that I won’t be getting the iPhone. I’ve been using Symbian for 2 years already and it’s time for a change, actually wanted an iPhone but due to the cockyness of iPhone and price, I’ve decided to go for the Google Nexue One.
You know right, iPhone here in Malaysia was like I can’t get the phone on the spot, I have to pay for deposit and wait the phone for at least a month. I hate this, I’ve money already still I can’t get the phone. Although iPhone is now available in store, still Nexus One has a better specs and a faster processor. What I want is a fast phone, my N95 is very slow and lags a lot.

Although Malaysia is not in their testing market, my brother who is in Singapore helped me to get in and the ETA is 10 days and I will be checking the status everyday. For sure, I will have the phone before Chinese New Year which falls on the valentine’s day too! =)
Stay tune for some Android updates here when I get the phone. Very excited right now.

I love Google Maps both on my PC and the mobile! I plan my trips with it and when I get lost on the road, it helps me a lot. Although it lack voice navigation on my Nokia N95 8GB, the “get direction” do helps too.

I also use it to favourite an eating place when I visit, then later use as reference for my food blog. With the latest version 3.3.1, I can sync my favourited/starred location to my Google Maps account online.

Previously, I can’t do that. Frankly, I kinda out-date because I only update my Google Maps now, but I believe some still stuck with old Google Maps on their phone, so faster update yours now!
By the way, if you are using Android, you get extra navigation feature and don’t forget, this is data-based, so you need a data plan for it. =)

Apple Magic Mouse is pretty. My friend who is working at an Apple store here in my place told me that it’s out of stock at the moment.
After trying out the mouse in the store, it’s pretty but it still doesn’t feel as good as a huge mouse that I am using, it’s only pretty and special with the button less button. It scroll with a feel, right click with a feel but I can’t do pinch and rotate yet, any idea how?

I just bought a new wireless desktop set for my PC. Previously I was using the Logitech S510 but I then I am using it for my HTPC in my room so I need another set of keyboard and mouse for my main PC. I already have a wired Microsoft laser mouse already and I only need a wireless keyboard but then there’s not much only-keyboard set, it’s more likely a combo of keyboard and mouse.

Until now, I only favor the Logitech desktop set. I know Microsoft do have their wireless desktop set, I bought a set before and I don’t like the performance, lag and lack of media and shortcut key.

I am a budget user so I found this Logitech Pro 2400 Cordless Desktop for RM185. I only need the keyboard though and I’ll keep the mouse for emergency use.

Comparison of S510’s receiver and the Pro 2400’s receiver.

Keyboard is a little bit huge, I still prefer the size like the Apple Aluminium Keyboard. It runs via 2.4ghz wireless interface and it’s better than RF and can transmit further. The receiver is very tiny too, it’s like a thumb drive.

Lack Next and Previous button, I programmed the Next and Back Internet key for it.

So many shortcut keys, I only use the media key, and sleep button.
It has media key that I wanted, I use it to control my iTunes and volume control mostly.

One thing is that the mouse look the same like the mouse came with the Logitech S510, only that this runs on 2.4ghz and in full black color. I keep it aside though.

Comparison of S510, Pro 2400 and Microsoft Wireless Desktop 700.
Typing on the keyboard feels good, they key very soft but not very quiet. IMO, Apple Aluminum Keyboard still have the best typing experience for me. This is a recommended buy but I still want to complain that they keyboard is a little bit big.

Actually there’s not many freebies I can get at the PC Fair. It’s all brouchers and flyers of price list and promotion.

There’s a big broadband war going on at the PC Fair, P1 Wimax gave a very big paper bag which inside consist only a piece of their promotion flyer. The paper bag was real big and it’s good to use as I used it to dump all my flyers.
Then at Maxis Broadband booth, they gave bag too, it’s a recycle environmental friendly bag with a promotion book and a piece of flyer. They got free sweets at their booth too. Great.
Digi, Celcom and Streamyx didn’t give any bag though.

Besides bags and brouchers, HP gave me a headband with Christmas hat decoration and a fresh scent thingy which give me to hang in the car to smells good. Now I got something interesting.

Lastly, I got a lot of balloons from Maxis Broadband and P1 Wimax. =D These were useless, but fun to be popped.

Or as a car decorations. =D

Walked around the exhibition hall and found something to play and try out and that is the iRiver M3 GPS system. The design is not bad, but the screen is rather small, it will be nice if it’s widescreen. Since it’s indoor, there’s I can’t navigate around with this thing, so I place search on my house address and it works. It has preloaded maps of Malaysia and it search by cities.

What’s this different from Garmin is that it is also a media player which plays music, video, text and photo. The storage is via SD card and addition features are like local yellow page listing, 3D junction view, landmark icons and toll rates calculator.
Price at RM499 for PC Fair price, I don’t like this because the touch screen is unresponsive, I always keyed in the wrong word when searching for road and navigating around is not easy.
