Apacer AH128 16GB Flash Drive – I went to the PIKOM PC Fair today at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and bought myself an Apacer flash drive with capacity of 16GB. It’s a standard USB2.0 flash drive, wanted to find a fast Transcend flash drive but couldn’t find it, end up with a normal, not fast, but beautiful design flash drive from Apacer. Since I am not doing some heavy tasking, I just use the flash drive for saving documents and some image for school and work, so I think this slow speed is acceptable.

What I like the most is the small size and the sleek silver design. It costs RM46. What do you think? By the way, Apacer is a Taiwanese brand.

Cheaper DG Smart Plan By DiGi From RM38/month – To join the competition with other telco, DiGi is now lowering its DG Smart Plan to as low as RM38/month for 1GB quota.

The famous DG Smart Plan 68 has lower the price to RM53 too, while DG Smart Plan 88 is now RM73. These price are after auto-payment by credit card. The subscription looks good now, but then you are tied to a 12-months contract. If you terminate before you reach your contract period, you have to pay RM100 termination fee.

DiGi’s data plan is cheap, no extra charge after quota which is very good, however the line is not as good as Maxis & Celcom. Nevertheless, I still find its better because it does not over charge you for using over the quota.

Astro’s NJOI Free Satellite TV Now Available – Several months ago, Astro announced the Njoi, a free satellite TV service to the Malaysian with a one-time set up fee is now available to the public.

There’s no monthly subscription fee for Njoi but one would have to pay a one-time set up fee of RM288 including a set-top box, Out-Door Unit (ODU) satellite dish, smartcard, remote control, as well a RM100 installation fee. Then you can watch 18 TV channel and 19 radio channels for free.

User can also choose to buy additional content in the future. Currently, the channel list are as image below:

Interested user can fill in the online form and the sales representative will contact you. Sounds cool right? I don’t really watch all Astro’s channel after-all. Unfortunately, there’s no HD channel included in the Njoi service.

Free SMS To Singapore & Indonesia By U Mobile – Although Singapore & Indonesia is across the ocean from Malaysia, but now you can send free messages to your friends and family at there with U Mobile. This is a special promo by U Mobile which you can send up to 50 International SM to Singapore and Indonesia for free.

What you need to do is just send 3 Internatioal SMS to the 2 countries and normal rate (35sen) and next 50 additional SMS will be charged for free. This means you can send a total of 53 SMS to Singapore / Indonesia for only RM1.05/day.

However, before you get to send for free, you need to activate the service first via call or SMS depending on whether you are on prepaid or postpaid. This promo runs until 30th March 2012.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Plan By Celcom – The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is finally officially here in Malaysia. DiGi is the first one to announced it with their DiGi plan and today you can check out Celcom’s plan. Celcom do in fact provide a wider 3G coverage throughout Malaysia and if you are always on the go in Malaysia, Celcom is the better choice for you. But then the final choice is your own pick, I don’t want to play with your mind.

To simplify a bit, the tablet starts from as low as RM1,409, a little bit more than DiGI and there are 3 plans that you can choose from -

• RM48 for 1.5GB
• RM68 for 4GB
• RM98 for 6GB

Good luck on your purchase on the Galaxy Tab 7.7. I want it so much, but now I’m gonna wait for the announcement of Apple iPad 3.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Plans By DiGi – I was actually thinking to buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, the size is great for travel, the Super AMOLED Plus 7.7 inch screen is so awesome, with dual core processor and 3G. It’s just so tempting, but then I put it on hold because Apple is going to announce the iPad 3 soon.

Ok, cut the crap. The main thing today is DiGi is offering the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 with DG Smart Plan. The price is as below:

Pre-Order The Sony Tablet S Now – Sony is going to release a new tablet to the market – Sony Tablet S, an Android-based tablet. You can pre-order it now on Sony’s website and there are two models available.

The tablet features a 9.4″ screen, runs on dual-core 1GHz Tegra 2 processor, 1GB RAM and weighs 598g. The thickness is different at two point of the tablet, the thinnest point at 10.1mm and the thickest point is 20.6mm which is rather thick. It’s running on Android Honeycomb 3.2 and ICS Android 4.0 update will be coming in soon. The back shooter is a 5-megapixel camera and front faced camera is a 0.3-megapixel camera.

My 2 cents: This tablet is quite pretty in term of design as well as the specs, however what I don’t like is the thick design. Although it’s ergonomically nice to hold on hand, but I still prefer something to be flat and thin.

Huawei Honor In Malaysia At RM1,099 – Huawei Honor is the latest Android smartphone by Huawei and is now available in Malaysia. The phone, Huawei Honor is an affordable mid-range smartphone that is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich-ready.

It features a 16M 16:9 true colour high-definition 4-inch FWVGA capacitive touch screen and powered by a high capacity 1,930mAh battery. It runs on a 1.4GHz processor. The rear shooter is an 8-megapixel HDR-enabled camera, whereas the front face camera is a 0.3-megapixel camera. The design is pretty sleek and sports a 10.9mm thin body and weighs about 140g.

Unfortunately, it’s shipped with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 is expect to be released by Q2 of 2012.

The phone is priced at RM1,099 and you can find the list of available outlets selling the phone on Huawei’s Facebook page.

Well, I think that this phone is a not-bad and affordable Android phone which sports a decent-powerful hardware, just without the dual-core. The 8-megapixel camera, 4-inch screen and ICS-ready make it one of the attractive mid-range Android phone out there. If you ask whether I want it or not, I would save more money and get the best and highest-end mobile phone out there. I don’t want to stuck at something in the middle range. My 2 cents. It’s up to your budget for a mobile phone, for a mid-range, powerful, and affordable price, Huawei Honor is a good one.
