The New TweetDeck By Twitter Desktop App – Last year, TweetDeck was bought by Twitter and now finally Twitter has finally launched the official TweetDeck by Twitter app for the desktop on Windows and Mac. The old app that runs through Adobe AIR system still works.

It has a little redesign in the interface with the new TweetDeck logo, and a wider column, as well as new UI for posting status.

I like TweetDeck and have been a user for it for quite a long time because TweetDeck makes reading particular tweet easy. I can create column for tweets that I want to follow as well as manage several Twitter profiles, as well as Facebook profile.

Facebook Chat On Windows With Messenger for Windows – Are you a frequent user of the Facebook Chat? Now you don’t have to turn on your browser, go to Facebook.com to chat with you friend. One more thing, I find the UI quite boring, despite having a standalone app, it should somehow has a different standalone design.

Best Twitter App On Android – TweetDeck - Despite the redesign on Twitter 4.0 app on Android, I pick TweetDeck as my favourite Twitter app on Android. It’s free, the theme is dark and the best part of all is the easy access to different column with just a swipe. Same as on the desktop, TweetDeck classifies different tweets into column, like Main Timeline, Replies, Private Message, List and people who I want to follow.

This makes reading tweets easier and faster for me. On the official Twitter app, I would have to press this and that to go to List, or to read a friend’s tweet. With TweetDeck, I can just swipe through the column for all the tweets that I want to read.

TweetDeck on Android also has two widgets that can be placed on your home screen which give you faster access to TweetDeck and to compose your Tweet, as well as a camera button for you to shoot and tweet.

How To: Install Facebook For iPad App. Few weeks ago, I talked about the leaked and backdoor to get the Facebook for iPad application. It was blocked by Facebook in less then a day and I couldn’t login to the Facebook for iPad app anymore. However, I have found a solution on how to access it and have been using it for a few days already.

Some have ask me where to download the Facebook For iPad app but then you don’t really need to download it as you already have it if you have the latest version of Facebook for iPhone on your iPad. You just need to do some tweak to change your Facebook to the iPad version.

One thing you must have is a JAILBROKEN iPad. Follow the instruction below to get your Facebook for iPad app. (Thanks to TNW).

1. Check for updates to make sure you have the latest version of Facebook from the App Store. Also, backup your iPad in iTunes.
2. Visit jailbreakme.com from your iPad. Jailbreaking your iPad is legal, but voids your warranty if you bring your iPad into an Apple Store. It’s easy to undo if need be. Just pug your iPad into your computer and restore it from your previous backup. (If you are running iOS 4.3.3, this will NOT work.)
3. Once the jailbreak process is complete, tap on Cydia, that was just installed on your iPad.
4. Tap the Search tab in Cydia and search for iFile. Download it using the button in the upper right hand corner.
5. Once iFile installs, open it up, and navigate to the “var” folder of your iPad. Then go to “mobile,” then “applications,” then “directory.”
6. Click the settings gear icon in the bottom navigation bar and turn “Application Names” to “On.”
7. Open the Facebook folder within the “directory” folder you’re inside of. Once you’re inside the Facebook folder, open Facebook.app.
8. Look for the info.plist file, then open it. Pick “Property List Viewver” to view the hexadecimal settings for the Facebook app.
9. Look for the UIDeviceFamily field and select it.
10. Delete the 1 you see, and put a 2 in instead. Tap “Done” to complete the process.
11. Hold down your power button to reboot your iPad.
12. Then go to Cydia again and seach for Faceforward.
13. Download and install it.
14. Launch your new Facebook app and you are now in.

It’s a little bit buggy, Page is not working as it crashes but overall it looks good. But if were to compare to MyPad, MyPad seems better than this. Tell me what do you think after trying it.

I was surfing on a local Malaysian forum and came across the link on some user’s footer. With much of curiosity, I went to check out the site and it has a start-up’s Interest page. Unfortunately, I was denied to submit my form of interest due to I was using Firefox. It recommends the use of Google Chrome browser which is pretty funny and it’s my first time I came across such website.

It aims to deliver a stylish social network experience. Noted that “stylish” is the keyword for this social networking site. Personal opinion thinks that the name is not really very stylish, yet I would love to see a Malaysian’s start-up and I love stylish stuff too. I have submitted my form of interest and waiting for the launch of the site. We will see how this Jedhub comes into our social networking life. Can Jedhub replaces the Facebook? Probably not, but let’s see will it runs side by side with our Facebook in the future.

Google Cosmic Panda – New Interface For YouTube. Google‘s YouTube is trying out a new user interface for it’s channel and playlists. It features a new look and design which sports a simple yet stylish look which is easy to navigate around. The new Cosmic Panda design focus mainly on YouTube’s playlists and channel.

Currently, the Cosmic Panda is in BETA mode, you need to toggle it on to try out the new design. YouTube has always been improving the video viewing experience and with the new Cosmic Panda, it brings the experience to the next level. The stylish new look and feel makes viewing online video better and more relaxing.

The channel view features a clean look with big thumbnails of the video. It looks like a blog layout which is easy to navigate around the channel to search for new video. Video player will load in another page when the thumbnail is clicked on.

The new look makes online video better and friendlier to end-user like us.

As for the playlist look, it shows big screenshot of your video in a wide format and display on the right layout of your screen. Same as the channel, it will only load after you click on the image. Everything you see is simplify just like the viewer counts on the lower right of the screenshot. It’s more like a blog view than the previous channel view.

Afterall, this is a good update and I see no flaws in this design. You may give your feedback to YouTube too as it’s still in BETA and YouTube will roll out this setting in future (soon). The way Google’s YouTube is upgrading their design and interface is great with it getting better and better. I am sure people will enjoy Internet video more with the Google’s YouTube Cosmic Panda.

Webstagram – Instagram On Your Desktop. Instagram is one of the most successful photos social sharing platform and app on the iOS device like iPhone, iPad and the iPod touch. Google+ (Google Plus), the new Facebook Rival – Google recently launched a new social network site called the Google+ and have been creating a buzz in the social networking service network.

The Internet search giant launched the new Google Plus project which is said to be a rival to social front king, Facebook have been receiving quite some good reviews from BETA user.

Previously, Google had run before the Google Wave and Google Buzz which were not really a success, but now with the new Google Plus, the company is aiming to be ahead of Facebook. At the moment, it’s still in invitation based and no news about date of opening to the public yet.

The Google+ Project features 3 main function which is:

Circles – Which is like the Facebook group that you share your lifelog, updates and media with your close circle.

Sparks – It’s like recommendation of latest trending topic.

Hangouts – Online video chat with a group of friends.

I still haven’t get an invite at the moment and still waiting for the invite from Google as I have submitted my name at the “Keep Me Posted” site. Right now, there’s not really a way on how to get in, Google recently launched invitation service but shut off due to high demand of invitation.

With all the simple function and cool feature of Google+ (Google Plus), it can be a new Facebook rival, but who will win the social networking war? We can’t put a word on it now as both provides different and unique feature. Let’s wait and see when Google+ is open to the public.

I am a frequent Foursquare user as I think that checking-in places is pretty cool and fun and just recently Foursquare redesigned the whole app of Foursquare for Windows Phone 7 and the UI looks pretty amazing and cool. I don’t have a Windows Phone, but I am thrill with the new design and layout.
