Waze – Fun Social Traffic Report And Navigation – Just downloaded Waze yesterday from the Android Market and found out that it’s pretty fun, cool and useful! Waze is actually a social-centric traffic app which reports traffic updates, navigation and gets socialize with other user.

Instead of posting to Twitter and Facebook that which area is having congestion or accident, you can use Waze to report on the situation and update other user, vice versa, you can check for traffic info at your area.

Besides, you can also Check In to Foursquare, update a police trap, just saying Hi for fun 0r join a local Waze group. Waze makes driving and updating traffic fun as you get a My Waze profile which you will collect points for ranking like Foursquare.

The best part of this app is Waze is available on Apple AppStore, Android Market, BlackBerry and Nokia for free. One down side is it runs your GPS and data all the time and be sure you have a power cable connected to it while driving.

Try Messages App From OS X Mountain Lion Now – The new version of OS X is coming, and it’s called the Mac OS X Mountain Lion. Apple is now calling the OS X instead of Mac OS X. Sounds cool, they are trying to differentiate betweet Mac hardware and OS X software.

One of the feature in the coming OS X Mountain Lion is the Messages app which eliminates iChat and bring iMessage and several other chat service like AIM, Yahoo! Google Talk and Jabber accounts under one app to Mac computer.

Instapad – View Instagram Photos On iPad Beautifully – Instagram and iPad user? You can use Instapad app on your iPad to view your beautiful photos via Instapad. Instapad app has a nice and clean UI that allows you to showcase your great photos taken with Instagram.

Instead of using the iPhone version of Instagram, InstaPad lets you search photos, view your stream, comment, love, comment and mark favourite.

For your information, you cannot upload photo with Instapad, it’s just an Instagram browser for your iPad. So you can use it after a Instagram photoshoot with friends, and show your photos via Instapad on iPad.

Facebook Messenger For iPhone And Android - Facebook is the most famous social networking site in the world. The Chat service in Facebook is one of the most used feature in this social networking site. To compete with some other reputable messaging app like WhatsApp, BBM and soon to release iMessage (on Apple iOS 5), Facebook released a dedicated app for chat – Facebook Messenger.

The app is a standalone app which only features the chat function and works on the iPhone and also the Android system. You can share photos, location and group chat we other Facebook user no matter he is using his mobile Messenger app or the Facebook website. So you can chat on the mobile with the user on the computer. It also has Push Notification which means new message will alert you right away.

Facebook For iPad Is Coming Really Soon – iPad has been in the market for more than 1.5 years and number one social networking site Facebook still haven’t release an official app for the iPad support. iPad user have been using alternative like the enlarge version of Facebook for iPhone, Friendly, MyPad for Facebook and more.

Just recently, someone found a backdoor to check out the Facebook for iPad app through the Facebook for iPhone app installed on the iPad. Just a little bit tweak and you can check out the new Facebook for iPad app, featuring a full screen and feature pack.

Of course, your iPad need to be jailbroken to try out. I tried but unfortunately I couldn’t get in because Facebook has already block the access to the app and I don’t get to try it. Really bad luck of me, but this also means that the ETA of the app for iPad is coming really very soon. So, it’s just around the corner and get your iPad ready for the app. Facebook for iPad is coming really soon.

I am a frequent Foursquare user as I think that checking-in places is pretty cool and fun and just recently Foursquare redesigned the whole app of Foursquare for Windows Phone 7 and the UI looks pretty amazing and cool. I don’t have a Windows Phone, but I am thrill with the new design and layout.

Are you Android user jealous of Apple’s FaceTime user out there doing video calling to each others? Now with the latest Skype for Anroid, you can do video calling too with the front facing camera available on your Android phone. Skype has just updated their Skype for Android app to include Skype Video Calls.

What’s different with Apple’s FaceTime is that Skype allows you to make calls over both Wi-Fi and 3G so that users are not tied to the Wi-Fi hotspot at a permanent location.

Unfortunately, Skype now only supports video calling on a small number of Android devices (check out the compatible list at the download page), though they promise to add more as time goes on. No worry, most Android with front facing camera works.

One more thing, do get a unlimited data plan if you are planning to use it on 3G network.

Have you ever wanted adjust or lower the volume of your on-screen keyboard typing sound on your Android touchscreen phone? I have a Nexus One and the typewriter-liked sound when typing on the on-screen keyboard is cool, but pretty loud and it’s a bit annoying when in a quiet place.

Turning the phone to silent make it doesn’t look very cool. So here’s a solution.

Feeling bored about your standby screen on your S60 phone? Yeah, it’s very bored and not customizable. Last time I tried Handy Shell, which is a home screen replacement for the S60 phone, the application and how it works looks very cool but one problem for me using N95 is that the Handy Shell seriously lagged my phone and another down side of it is that it’s not a free application.

Recently I found a new application that will replace your standby screen with various customization. Actually it’s out quite some times in Chinese version. It’s actually created by the Chinese and have been ported to English recently.

It added weather, Google search, a big digital clock, and a rotating news feed. The to do notes and memos are still there and it shows the number of to dos you have in your calendar instead of one in the original standby screen. Another thing I didn’t set is that it allows two rows of shortcut instead of one. I don’t really have that many shortcuts, so a row is fine for me. One row that is missing is the Share Online thing that was on the original standby screen, this is a good thing because I don’t use it and I believe many of you don’t too, another is the WLAN scanning, but you can add the WLAN wizard shortcut into the shortcut line. =)

On the original setting, the right key is actually MyFav which shows a list of your frequent used contact. I prefer having Calendar as my right shoutcut key. Pressing the red End Call keys will switch between opened background application. So let’s say you have Gravity on, you hide it, you need not to go can choose from your shortcut but instead, pressing the End Call button brings you straight into unclose app.

For the left shortcut key, it actually opens up a menu which brings to a list of shortcut again. So you actually can get a lot of shortcut with this Voyager Homescreen. One thing that bothers me is that I don’t know why my Start menu is in Chinese, maybe is the install and uninstall of different version causes this. I can read Chinese so it does fine to me. A little big translation on my Start menu, the first *key is Lock Keypad, 1. is News Feeds, 3. is Setting, 3. is More Setting and 4. is Camera.

Clicking on the weather bar brings up this 4 day weather forecast. You need to have a Internet connection for this and the rotating news feed. Setting up the weather was a little bit troublesome at first, I recommend you to use a Wifi or 3G, it just can’t detect the city when I got an EDGE connection.

Another feature that comes with it is vApp which is like a App Store built in with the vHome app. Showing some of the useful free app. This is faster than Ovi, but I didn’t really use it because I have what I want already.

Besides that, you can do smart dialing which is like on the E71. Straight dial a name and the names on the phonebook or app will show on screen. I like this feature a lot.

I also found out that the app has changed my web browser’s home screen, showing a list of shortcuts. That’s pretty good, but if I am allow to change the links of the shortcut will be nice.

One feature that is missing from the Chinese version is the social networking bar, which you can update Facebook and Twitter right from the standby screen, hopefully next update will include this.
