LTE is the true 4G network, it&#8217;s not like the same as P1 4G WiMAX or Yes 4G Broadband, LTE is the next generation&#8217;s mobile network. Heard about GSM? LTE will be the replacement of GSM. Heard about TM&#8217;s Unifi fiber optic network? LTE will be like fiber optic for your mobile. Well, there&#8217;s no exact date of LTE launch by DiGi in Malaysia but what is known is that they are upgrading their cell tower and network throughout year 2012 and will be ready by 2013. Another telco that will be providing LTE is Maxis. It&#8217;s rather slow here in Malaysia as Hong Kong and Singapore has already launched their LTE service. However, to fully utilize LTE, one must have a LTE-enabled phone. One thing, will the next iPhone/iPad has LTE support? That&#8217;s a good question for Apple. <p>Well, there&#8217;s no exact date of LTE launch by DiGi in Malaysia but what is known is that they are upgrading their cell tower and network throughout year 2012 and will be ready by 2013. Another telco that will be providing LTE is Maxis.</p>
<p id="yui_3_4_0_3_1324897557603_650" class="thumb"><span id="yui_3_4_0_3_1324897557603_649" class="photo_container pc_z"><a id="yui_3_4_0_3_1324897557603_648" class="rapidnofollow" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/6572897705/in/photostream"><img id="yui_3_4_0_3_1324897557603_647" class="pc_img" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7025/6572897705_e2b0fc890e_z.jpg" border="0" alt="Screen Shot 2011-12-26 at 12.10.20 PM" width="640" height="488" /></a></span></p>
<p>It&#8217;s rather slow here in Malaysia as Hong Kong and Singapore has already launched their LTE service. However, to fully utilize LTE, one must have a LTE-enabled phone.</p>
<p>One thing, will the next iPhone/iPad has LTE support? That&#8217;s a good question for Apple. Check out <a href="http://www.digi.com.my/tomorrownetwork/" target="_blank">www.digi.com.my/tomorrownetwork/</a> for more info.</p>

I thought it is just slightly bigger than the Samsung Galaxy S2, but comparing side by side, it become so much bigger than the S2 which already known as a big device.</p>
<p id="allsizes-photo"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/6433915117/in/set-72157628227487631/"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7015/6433916173_de02b1d4e8_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p id="allsizes-photo"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/6433912441/in/set-72157628227487631/"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7020/6433912441_79f86ffcbf_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>The Samsung Galaxy S2 runs on 1.4GHz ARM Cortex-A9 Dual-core processor which supports multitask and 1080p recording very well with a 8MP camera, as well as a front face 2MP camera. The main feature of the phone is the S-Pen Stylus which allows you to draw and write on the huge screen.</p>
<p id="allsizes-photo"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/6433913103/in/set-72157628227487631/"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7173/6433913103_9723610024_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>Surprisingly, the S Pen Stylus is very sensitive on the screen and is so much better than the stylus for the iPad/iPhone. It has a sharp tip which makes writing and drawing on the screen more precise.</p>
<p id="allsizes-photo"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/6433914207/in/set-72157628227487631/"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7158/6433914207_112a89c819_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>The keyboard is the standard Samsung-modified Android Gingerbread keyboard. Typing on it with two hands are quite smooth, probably due to the huge screen, yet it&#8217;s not as good as the iPhone&#8217;s keyboard.</p>
<p id="allsizes-photo"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/6433915117/in/set-72157628227487631/"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7174/6433915117_d009e654c3_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>In term of battery life, it has a 2500mAh removable battery. The large capacity battery doesn&#8217;t really improve the battery life of a smartphone because it uses more juice to power the large screen and the dual-core CPU. One thing I did not mention is that the weight is quite light and very thin too given its huge size outlook.</p>
<p>So, should you buy the Samsung Galaxy Note? In my personal opinion, I think it&#8217;s rather too big to put in the pocket. it&#8217;s more for business centric person where a phone doesn&#8217;t slide into the pocket but instead kept in a belt pouched. It&#8217;s just doesn&#8217;t feel good on one hand. It size in between the Galaxy Tab and a normal huge screen smartphone. I would rather go for a Samsung Galaxy Tab if I would&#8217;ve wanted a large device. Alternatively, you can pick up the <a href="http://inicholas.net/tag/galaxy-s2/">Samsung Galaxy S2</a> which stores well in your pocket.</p>
<p>The Samsung Galaxy Note is available on <a href="http://www.google.com.my/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=galaxy%20note%20digi&amp;source=web&amp;cd=1&amp;ved=0CCMQFjAA&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.digi.com.my%2FPhonesDevices%2FSamsung_GALAXY_Note.do&amp;ei=aUrYTv7rF42urAfY9eD3DQ&amp;usg=AFQjCNH1zEjA7hKR6xdtF42C4MC40Jh0ow&amp;cad=rja">DiGi</a> and <a href="http://www.google.com.my/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=celcom%20galaxy%20note&amp;source=web&amp;cd=4&amp;ved=0CDYQFjAD&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.celcom.com.my%2Fsmartphones%2Fandroid.php&amp;ei=mkrYTtuoFobprQe79q3rDQ&amp;usg=AFQjCNF9Pg63lsWiD7Jkgd6RbllCJVf1OQ&amp;cad=rja">Celcom</a> at a discounted rate.</p>

A numbered of powerful Internet devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Galaxy S2, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, HTC, BlackBerry and more are on sale right now with a subscription of the DG Smart Plan 68. Moreover, you get an extra RM20 rebate on your monthly plan which become RM48 per month get you a saving of RM480 in your contract period (24 months), meaning that you pay only RM48 per month only.
