Malaysia iPhone 4S Launch On 16 December 2011 - After the long wait, the new Apple iPhone 4S will be landing in the Malaysia land on 16 December 2011. Celcom confirmed the release on 16th December 2011, while Maxis and DiGi do not shows the exact date yet.

The new iPhone 4S features the same design as the iPhone 4 but with improvement in the CPU (Apple A5 dual core), a new 8mp camera, as well as the featured Siri on iOS5.

It will be available on 3 telco, Maxis, DiGi and Celcom. Maxis currently launched the Registration Of Interest page for the iPhone 4S while DiGi and Celcom put up a teaser on their website.

BlackBerry Bold 9900 Malaysia Launch And Price Revealed – With the recent news about the soon-to-release of the new RIM BlackBerry Bold 9900 by DiGi and Maxis, Brightstar Malaysia, the official BlackBerry distributor has reveal secretly about the release date and pricing for the new mobile phone.

The phone will be release on 15 September 2011 and is available for pre-order at Mid Valley, priced at RM2188 (RRP). Why I said “reveal secretly” is because that Brightstar Malaysia has removed the image stating the price from the Facebook page after a while of posting it online. No reason why.

The launched date of Apple iPad 2 was already predicted recently and I went to my campus to have a hands-on on the iPad 2, feel how special and nice it is. It’s nice that there’s an Apple store in campus so I can went to feel the Mac all the time. =D

I didn’t come here in the morning to check out the launch because I was sleeping. It says that only 1 purchase for each person. Well, there’s no buying extra but when I check with the stock just now, it’s still available.

When hands-on on it, it look exactly the same with the original iPad but when get a hold on it, it feels sleeker, thinner and the Apple A5 CPU is definitely the most obvious changes. The transition of screen is really smooth.

Just try the camera and nothing much on the iPad 2. It’s indeed cool but the resolution for the still camera just sucks. 1280×720 for back and front faced is VGA resolution which is just a fun camera. If it’s 5 megapixel like the iPhone 4 then it’s a perfect device, too bad it’s not.

Smart Cover is surprisingly holding strong onto the iPad, however it’s still not save in my opinion as a stronger pull will drag it apart.

If you are asking me if I want it or not, of course I want but then I have an iPad already, no point buying this unless there’s trade in program, is there any? I want iPad 2!

It had been more than 24 hours since the Apple iPad launched in Malaysia somehow the iPad page is still not yet up on the online store. So in the meanwhile, if you think of getting your hands on the iPad, do check out Apple’s reseller in Malaysia like Switch (Northern), Machines / EpiCentre (Central) / Machines (Sounthern) / IT Fusion (Sarawak).

Last Thursday, Samsung Galaxy Tab is launched by Maxis and Samsung, making Malaysia the first South East Asia country to receive the 7-inch tablet. You can get this tablet cum huge mobile phone from selected Maxis Centres – KLCC, Pavilion KL, Sunway Pyramid and Taman Tun Dr. Ismail whereas the rest of the Maxis outlet and selected Maxis Exclusive Partners will begin to sell it from 29 October 2010. Since it’s bundled with data or data + voice plan, you can only get it from Maxis at the moment.

The tablet is powered by 1.0GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor with PowerVR SGX540 as its graphic processor. Internal RAM is 512MB and has a internal disk space of 16GB which later then can be expanded through its microSD slot up support up to 32GB. It has the latest Android Froyo 2.2 Firmware and comes with 2 cameras, the front 1.3-megapixels camera for video call and the back 3-megapixel with Auto-Focus and LED Flash.

On the mobile part, it support 2.5G and 3G connectivity up to HSDPA 7.2MBps connection. On the other hand, it has Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP and WiFi 802.11n. As for the battery life, Samsung officials claimed that it has 4,000mAh Li-pol battery which has a talk time of approximately 1,000 minutes and a standby time of 1,500 hours.

Pricing detail is RM2,599 retail and can be obtained at a cheaper price of RM1,749 on 24-months contract and RM1,849 on 12-months contract.

After having a little bit hands-on on the device, my personal recommendation on a Internet tablet is still the Apple iPad or a Windows 7 tablet. Android tablet is just and Android phone a larger screen and there’s no specific built app for Android tablet, like Apple’s Apps for iPad.

To buy or not to buy. It depends on yourself again, you need it or not, can you add a extra 380g into your bag or not, are you willing to spend another data plan for your tablet or not, do you like Android on a big screen or not. =)

Oh my god! You hear me right! The latest Nokia X6, first Nokia media phone with capacitive touchscreen will be selling at only RM66 (19.30USD!) at the launch party which happening on the 29th January 2010 at Bukit Kiara Equestrian Club Indoor Arena!

It’s not all yet! Boys Like Girls will be there, Khalil Fong will be there! And other artist too! I like Khalil Fong a lot. =)

Unfortunately, I am so far away from the location, I stay in Penang, somewhere 400km away from the venue and unless there’s sponsor want to cover my transportation and accommodation, only then I can go cover the event for you. I so wish that I could be in the line and buy a phone for such a low price and meet up with Boys Like Girls and Khalil Fong. OMG!

I think many of you guys have already knew about the iPhone 3G in Malaysia. The official telco for iPhone is Maxis. Maxis is promoting the iPhone 3G everywhere right now, you can see ads in the TV, radio, newspaper, billboards and roadshows.

It’s good to have iPhone officially launched in Malaysia so that we can no worry of warranty and service by Apple if we got a faulty iPhone. However, buying the iPhone 3G with the plan provided by Maxis is very expensive.

That’s an iPod touch, not an iPhone. I have sucky China iPhone at home. =)

The plan is quite expensive if comparing to iPhone plan in UK and United States. The cheapest iPhone in the plan is priced at FOC for 8GB and RM260 for 16GB but you need to have a monthly commitment fee of up to RM374 for 24 months contract.

After going through all the plans, I think I would rather buy an unlock iPhone 3G for around RM2000 without contract for a 8GB unit. My monthly phone bill is always below RM100 and I have no way to pay a monthly commitment of RM100. Make phone calls or not, you still have to pay RM100 for every month for the 12/24 months contract.

If you would want to buy a iPhone 3G now, I suggest you to wait as the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference that will happening in June will probably announces a next generation iPhone 3G with video camera and perhaps a better camera. Let’s hope for a improved feature next gen iPhone. =)
