The rumors, the photos that circulate the Internet has finally come to an end as the Google Nexus S brought to you by Samsung and Google is now official. As a successor or a new generation for the Google Nexus One, here comes the Google Nexus S. I assume the S is stand for speed. The main differences are the huge 4″ screen, Samsung’s Contour Display, front face camera, Gingerbread, 16GB built-in memory and 1GHz Hummingbird processor.

All the specs seems very tempting to me as iNicholas loves the Google Nexus series and is currently using the Google Nexus One. An upgrade is definitely a good idea to iNicholas. However, a review is needed to be go through as I most concerned about is the battery life. The current battery life of the Google Nexus One is not very good, a full charge is only able to support 2/3 day usage.

Let’s wait for the release of the phone on 16th December 2o1o and the review, then we’ll know whether it’s a good phone or not. The design is awesome too. One more thing, the price is still the same $529 unlocked. However, selling country is only United States and United Kingdom at the moment. Check out the video.

I bought a BlackBerry Bold 9780 or also known as the Bold 3 to the BB fans out there for very cheap due to the promotion and contract by DiGi. Before this, I was so curious about the BlackBerry and keep on wondering why people here, especially KL people and Indonesian like BlackBerry so much. I always scratch my head and they influenced me.

So I finally got myself a BlackBerry, the latest device, an upgrade of BlackBerry 9700 and was released just recently. It’s something very cool, very sexy, the Boldness, especially the QWERTY keyboard. I really like QWERTY keyboard very much as it’s awesome.

With much anticipation, I switched my data card with BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) to the Bold and started BB-ing which turned up to be a disappointment to me. Now I will start ranting my dislike on the phone.

Perhaps I was on huge 3.7″ touchscreen Nexus One, switching to a small 2.5″ is not a favour. At first it’s OK, but as soon as coming to surfing the Internet, scrolling on the trackpad is getting difficult although it’s good.

Next, I tried the social media apps built inside the new OS6. Facebook is ugly when compare to a Android’s Facebook app. I didn’t try Twitter. The very famous UberTwitter is fun to tweet because it’s very fast but again the UI is ugly when compare to Twicca or TweetDeck on the Android. Foursquare is pretty much the same.

As for the application, to be honest there’s no fun application to play with like on the Android or iPhone. BlackBerry is just a plain emailing device. Don’t talk about the social media apps because it’s available on the iPhone and Android too. Nothing much special about it except the keyboard. Perhaps some people says that emailing on the BlackBerry is more secure, this maybe good to business people as the email run through their very own RIM server in Canada. If you are talking about Push Email service, Gmail app on the Android is just on par with the push service by BlackBerry.

BlackBerry is a device that need to use with the BIS, BlackBerry Internet Service. Without it, your phone is just a dumb phone which just can call and text. Even with a data plan, you can’t go onto the Internet, or WiFi, Internet is not available unless you have no SIM card in the phone. I feel it’s kinda ridiculous. I don’t really like it. And I need to add additional RM10 (3.5US$) on top of my data plan. Was thinking of using it as a texting phone but somehow other feature won’t work so I didn’t use already.

Then after using one day of data on it, I realised that my Nexus One is almost dead because many apps on the Android run through cloud service and requires data and I can’t afford a second data line. In the end, I switch back the data + BIS line to my Nexus One and stop using the BlackBerry.

This is an advice from me and personal opinion. I thought it was cool but after I tried it, it’s not. Perhaps you say you want to BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) with your friend, why not you use Kik, WhatsApp, Ping or GTalk? They are actually all the same thing. After using for a day, I don’t like it. It’s not a good phone. Stick with Android or iPhone, they are still better than BB.

Many BB-fans is going to dislike me but this is just what I am thinking about it. =) I sold my BlackBerry after then and back to Google Nexus One.

After searching around for so long for a external battery pack, finally I found Chinese made MiLi at Switch World Expo that held at Gurney Plaza lately. I wanted an external battery pack to charge my phones, the Nexus One and Nokia N95 8GB when they run out of battery. I feel that having an external battery pack is better than swapping battery because swapping battery need to power it off and on again, very troublesome.

But with an external battery pack, it’s different. Just plug it into the phone it will charged like from the power at home.

It’s actually a rechargeable battery which can be charged then output with a USB and then connect it to any of your gadget device. You can charge your iPhone or whatever thing with the USB. It’s very easy to use too. There’s two color, black and white and I picked up the blacked one.

Opening up the box, there’s the little battery pack, it’s very small and very light, come with a pouch, USB cable and a few connectors for your phone and gadget.

It’s a finger print magnet with it sleek glossy surface. A full charged of the MiLi will allow you to charged your iPhone for 2-3 times. I uses it on my Nexus One though. Very easy to use too. Pressing on the center button will indicates how much battery is left. If the blue LED is on, means there’s still power.

Just plug it into your phone, then press the center button, it will start charging your mobile phone or gadget. One thing, the charging is very fast, it’s a lot faster than the power from your computer’s USB.

Good buy and I bought this form RM129 (around US$39).

Google Nexus One has a trackball on the bottom and it flashes when you have notification like text messages, email, Twitter or other stuff. Usually it’s white in color and just recently, I found out blue light flashing at the trackball when I receive text message. Cool! It happened after I’ve updated my Android to Froyo 2.2. Do you get this or have unlock other color?

And now, I found a friend who uses Android too and he’s Kenny, a geek like me, just signed up for DiGi’s DG Smartplan and bought the HTC Legend on a discounted price. I guess more and more people will go for Android already because Maxis and DiGi are selling it.

HTC Google Nexus One still rocks with bigger screen. Haha, but my rival HTC Desire is cool!

The order of full body skin by Best Skins Ever a week ago is finally here! Shipped directly from the United States to Malayia. Took them around 10 days to arrive, pretty happy when seeing it in my letterbox.

There’s actually a similar one call Invisible Shield but I prefer Best Skins Ever because it’s cheaper and I’ve use it before on my iPod touch last time. Well, you know I am a very extreme person, I may get scratches and phone drop a lot, so I need a protector to protect my phone.

It’s a full body skin so it applies all part of my phone. The down side of having this is you can’t feel the nice feeling of the phone, it’s plasticky and rubberish a bit now.

But it’s still cool. The applying process take quite a long time because I need to make sure it’s in place correctly and need to wait it to dry only I can apply the other section. But after applying and let it fully dry for one day, it looks very good.

Rocks.

I am not a gaming person, but due to boredness, I went to look around the Game section in the Android Market app store and downloaded a few games. One of which is Toss It.

Your aim is to toss the paper or other junk into the dustbin. Very simple. It requires touch and a little bit of angle thinking because there’s fan which disturbs your tossing. Unfortunately, this game doesn’t use the accelerometer built in your phone. Yet, it’s still a good time-waster while you’re on the cab, bus or train.

I need to test use for another month to see whether 500mb is enough for me or not. The only thing I must not do to make sure that I won’t use a lot of data is Youtube, as you know Youtube sucks a lot of data.

Unlike my old Nokia N95, there’s no data counter on the Android. But after some searching in the Market, I found an application that can shows how much data you have used and auto resets every month. It’s called NetSentry, better than NetCounter IMO.

I set 500MB data limit, so I assume there will be a notification when reaching the limit. Hopefully, 500MB is enough for me or Maxis must revise their data plan rate.

I have been using this new Google Nexus One phone for two weeks already and I am very satisfied with the new phone, love it a lot although there’s still don’t-like about the phone.

I live in Malaysia and it’s not listed in the shipping destination of four countries. There’s United States, United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Singapore. Luckily, I have a brother who resides in Singapore, he helped me to order and shipped to his address in Singapore, only then he bring it back to Malaysia during the Chinese New Year holiday two weeks ago.

The shipping from USA to Singapore was pretty fast, it took DHL 4 days and hand delivered on a Sunday.

The package comes with the phone and another order of the Europe-Asia AC Adapter, it’s actually useless because the two-pin works here too!

Inside the phone box, there’s the phone, a pouch, earpiece, USB cable and 2-pin adapter.

I like the earpiece because the microphone is tiny, although not as tiny as the iPhone’s but still it camouflaged into the media key and not many will notice it’s actually an earpiece with mic for the Nexus One. People will think that I am either talking to air, or just listening to MP3.

I was on Symbian, familiar with iPhone OS and it’s my first time using Android 2.1. Very unfamiliar with the UI and not very friendly at first, the keyboard was not as sensitive as the iPhone but I am getting used to the OS already. Although Android apps are not as many as the iPhone apps, but I believe it will grow, perhaps is because that it’s still new.

Another thing I dislike is the capacitive touch screen doesn’t feel good as the glassy one on the iPhone, and last dislike thing is the 4 touch sensitive button below the screen are annoying, because I always touch on it accidentally.

Afterall, I like my phone, I am satisfied with it. I can’t dislike the battery life because all smart phone’s battery life is like that.

If you want this phone, you need a data plan because it syncs a lot.

You know right, iPhone here in Malaysia was like I can’t get the phone on the spot, I have to pay for deposit and wait the phone for at least a month. I hate this, I’ve money already still I can’t get the phone. Although iPhone is now available in store, still Nexus One has a better specs and a faster processor. What I want is a fast phone, my N95 is very slow and lags a lot.

Although Malaysia is not in their testing market, my brother who is in Singapore helped me to get in and the ETA is 10 days and I will be checking the status everyday. For sure, I will have the phone before Chinese New Year which falls on the valentine’s day too! =)
