Nokia’s ‘Smart Phone Beta Test Is Over’ Is FUNNY! – Nokia recently came up with a new marketing campaign to promote their Nokia Lumia series with ‘The Smartphone Beta Test Is Over’ which claims that smartphone users in the world since 2007 were in a BETA TEST, and now the test is over which produces the ‘ultimate’ Nokia Lumia Windows Phone.

Why is it funny?

Apparently, Nokia Lumia is not the best phone in the world despite the good review of Windows Phone and a beautiful design. Windows Phone still lag of powerful applications, Nokia Lumia is not widely available around the world and it has older generation of hardware. I still have hope in Nokia, looking forward to the better Nokia Lumia, not Lumia 800, or 900.

Waze – Fun Social Traffic Report And Navigation – Just downloaded Waze yesterday from the Android Market and found out that it’s pretty fun, cool and useful! Waze is actually a social-centric traffic app which reports traffic updates, navigation and gets socialize with other user.

Instead of posting to Twitter and Facebook that which area is having congestion or accident, you can use Waze to report on the situation and update other user, vice versa, you can check for traffic info at your area.

Besides, you can also Check In to Foursquare, update a police trap, just saying Hi for fun 0r join a local Waze group. Waze makes driving and updating traffic fun as you get a My Waze profile which you will collect points for ranking like Foursquare.

The best part of this app is Waze is available on Apple AppStore, Android Market, BlackBerry and Nokia for free. One down side is it runs your GPS and data all the time and be sure you have a power cable connected to it while driving.

Video: Nokia Teases ‘Pure View’ As Its Next Big Thing – Nokia has just uploaded a less than 30 seconds video which teases you the next big thing of Nokia which features “Pure View”. This teaser video is probably to be related with the coming Mobile World Congress.

I think it has something to do with the camera and the screen. What do you think? It sounds exciting.

Delicious Ice Cream White Nokia Lumia 800 – When you think that the Apple iPhone is the prettiest phone in the world, take a break, look at the new Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone in white! It’s so pretty and delicious. It’s only available in UK at the moment, hopefully it will come to Malaysia too!

Nokia Lumia 900 LTE Windows Phone – CES 12 is going on right now and Nokia just confirmed the latest device of Nokia Lumia 900 Windows Phone which supports LTE next-gen connectivity. LTE gives you a download speeds of up to 50mbps.

The Nokia Lumia 900 looks identical to the Nokia Lumia 800 but with a bigger size at screen size of 4.3″ ClearBack AMOLED screen. The built quality is pretty good which is a polycarbonate unibody.

This phone is also the first LTE smartphone from Nokia. At the moment, Nokia did not reveal the release data and pricing yet. I have no idea when it will come to Malaysia and hopefully when it comes, LTE-technology is ready in Malaysia by DiGi and Maxis.

Available in black and cyan. I have tried Lumia 800 before and the built quality is very good.

Nokia Lumia 900 (Nokia ACE) Is Nokia’s Flagship Windows Phone – Frankly speaking, I think Nokia’s Lumia 800 is a pretty phone, however the down side of the phone is that the screen is too small, otherwise everything will be perfect. A new leaked information by Pocketnow states that a bigger screen size of the Lumia 800 – the Nokia Lumia 900 will be announced at the upcoming CES in Las Vegas. It will also be known as Nokia ACE for AT&T.

Besides, it will also replace Nokia Lumia 800 as the Nokia’s flagship Windows Phone, making it the premium series of Nokia phone. It will come with

the Tango version of Windows Phone 7.

The phone is believes to has the specs of:

• 4.3-inch WVGA display
• 512MB of RAM
• 8-megapixels camera
• Huge capacity 1830mAh battery
• 1.4GHz Qualcomm CPU

Nokia Lumia 900 is expected to release in U.S. market early 2012 (February) with no price detail yet. Looking forward to the phone, however was hoping the phone with more RAM.

Nokia N9 – Good Concept, A Little Too Late – Last week, I was walking in Sunway Pyramid, a shopping mall in Malaysia and I saw a demo unit of the Nokia N9 on shelf. I was curious and went to have a little hands-on on it. The design looks very good and sleek with a 3.9″ capacity Gorilla glass display.

What’s so special about phone is the button-less homescreen. There’s no home button like on the iPhone or Android. It’s just a screen, with a function button on right and the volume key on the left. So how it works is actually on swiping the screen. Swiping the screen from right to left actually wakes up the phone. I find that it is a very good idea and concept. Swiping from left to right changes your opened application screen and from top to bottom is to close your application.

Sounds pretty cool right? It runs on MeeGo OS and has a 1GHz Cortex A8 CPU, with 8megapixel shooter on the back that is able to shoot HD-ready 720P video at 30fps. The feeling on hand is very solid, not too light, nor too heavy with a perfect size. The MeeGo system is smooth and has a good looking UI too.

Unfortunately, MeeGo is a late-comer where iOS and Android is taking most of the smartphone market share and Windows Phone Mobile is coming up while RIM’s BlackBerry is doing not so well. With apps that are already ready built for the other platforms, MeeGo might not get much third party app support and development. Well, I just got to say that the idea of the phone is very good, and sadly, MeeGo is just too late, it should have join the competition few years back when iOS and Android were released.

Colourful And Cool Bluetooth Headset By Nokia - Although Nokia decided to work with Windows Phone and stop developing the Symbian platform, Nokia is still trying to be innovative and stand out in the mobile market. Nokia just released a set of colorful, cool yet cute mobile Bluetooth headset (BH112) that ease your hands-free conversation on the go and suit your mood.

It’s small and features a minimalist design and works with all Bluetooth handset and it also supports multipoint connections which means you can use it with several phones at the same time.

As you know, Nokia dumped Symbian for Windows Phone 7 (WP7) and they in fact still working on another operating system which is the MeeGo. Somehow, the Nokia N9, known as the swipe phone might be the first and last phone from Nokia running the MeeGo platform.

Recent 21 June event in Singapore, Nokia stunned the world of tech with the Nokia N9 smartphones, can be said as the successor to the Symbian Nokia N8 and Maemo N900.

The N9 features a new interface experience that doesn’t require any navigation buttons or even a home butter. The only physical buttons are the power button and volume control.

The sleek design of Nokia N9 handset features a 3.9″ AMOLED screen with WVGA resolution of 854×480 which has a cruved Gorilla glass, upgraded from 3.5″ of Nokia N8.

It’s Nokia phone with the highest hardware specs and wun with a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 OMAP3630 processor and a 1GB RAM. It has a 8MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens and Nokia claims that it has the fastest image capturing phone in the market, that a shot can be taken in just 2.6 seconds.

It also included NFC which lets you share files and media by tapping onto another device, and Dolby audio support.

The design is real awesome and what’s special is the MeeGo platform which features the Swipe function. Navigating through apps and homescreen just requires different swipe gesture. According to its Harmattan implementation, Nokia centralized the device into 3 main functions and they are notifications, apps and multitasking.

There’s no news about release date, but it’s one of Nokia’s best phone up to date and MeeGo is obviously better than Symbian but the support for it lies in Nokia hand.
