<p><strong>Sony Xperia S &#8211; Sleek, Sexy, Powerful Android Phone</strong> &#8211; Finally, Sony Ericsson is no longer Sony Ericsson as the Sony Xperia S is the first SONY branded phone that is sexy, sleek and powerful. Announced just not long ago at CES 2012 in Las Vegas, the Sony Xperia S is the latest Android device by Sony (re-branded from Sony Ericsson).</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span id="yui_3_4_0_3_1326178786305_634" class="photo_container pc_z"><a id="yui_3_4_0_3_1326178786305_633" class="rapidnofollow" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/6671740065/in/photostream"><img id="yui_3_4_0_3_1326178786305_632" class="pc_img aligncenter" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7034/6671740065_037e05e496_z.jpg" border="0" alt="120110-Sony-Xperia-S-4" width="640" height="338" /></a></span></p>
<p>The phone is part of the Sony&#8217;s Xperia NXT series. The Xperia NXT series is the next generation smartphones from Sony which features high quality design and hardware.</p>
<p>According to Sony,</p>
<blockquote><p>Xperia S showcases a new design approach referred to as “Iconic Identity”. The design will be replicated across the Xperia NXT series and creates a simple strong look that is instantly recognizable. The transparent element at the base creates an iconic silhouette where the display is emphasized and underlined. In addition, it provides illumination effects and integrates the antenna components.</p>
<p>The user Interface has been redesigned to match the minimalistic design of the hardware. The home screen has a new colorful flow background making full usage of HD Reality Display and dual-core processing power.</p></blockquote>
<p>This sexy phone sports a <strong>4.3-inch 1290x720p HD Reality Display with Mobile Bravia Engine which is very amaging,</strong><strong> 32GB of built-in memory and runs on a 1.5GHZ dual-core Qualcomm MSM8260 processor</strong>. Besides that, its connectivity includes DLNA wireless media support, HDMI connection to TV and display, Bravia Sync to Sony Bravia TV series as well as the NFC that use for Google Beam and Google Wallet. Battery juice up to 1,750mAh battery.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span id="yui_3_4_0_3_1326178786305_652" class="photo_container pc_z"><a id="yui_3_4_0_3_1326178786305_651" class="rapidnofollow" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/6671741287/in/photostream"><img id="yui_3_4_0_3_1326178786305_650" class="pc_img aligncenter" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7162/6671741287_41e2f448a8_z.jpg" border="0" alt="120110-Sony-Xperia-S-2" width="640" height="535" /></a></span></p>
<p>The shooter is a <strong>12-megapixel f/2.4 large aperture Exmor R camera with 1080p video recording</strong>. Its<strong> front camera sports a 1.3-megapixel sensor</strong> that can film up to 720p. In order to compete with the Apple iPhone 4S, the Xperia S comes with <strong>Sony&#8217;s Fast Capture technology</strong> which enables the camera to go from standby mode to first shot in just 1.5 seconds.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span id="yui_3_4_0_3_1326178786305_643" class="photo_container pc_z"><a id="yui_3_4_0_3_1326178786305_642" class="rapidnofollow" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/6671740837/in/photostream"><img id="yui_3_4_0_3_1326178786305_641" class="pc_img aligncenter" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7005/6671740837_b437d0d0b8_z.jpg" border="0" alt="120110-Sony-Xperia-S-5" width="640" height="640" /></a></span></p>
<p>The phone will be available worldwide including Malaysia in first quarter of 2012, unfortunately the Xperia S will only run on <strong>Android 2.3 Gingerbread</strong>. However, Ice Cream Sandwich update is confirmed to arrive in the phone within the second quarter of 2012.</p>
<p><iframe width="600" height="335" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/0s8NipoYDm8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><iframe width="600" height="335" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/RUdXtQuL4fA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>Well, the design and the specs of the phone so far are not disappointing and very attractive. One thing is that it should runs on Quad-Core processor instead. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to the phone, the sleek squarish design and the camera are just so tempting.</p>
