iPhone Green Screen Of Death – I am using an Apple iPhone 3GS, running on 5.0.1, jailbroken with Redsnow and yesterday I occurred the green screen of death! I was sorry cause I did not encounter any of this before except black screen and my iPhone just sent for service not long ago. I thought it was faulty due to jailbreak process or a broken LCD.

After Googling around, the green screen actually represent the battery icon when you are charging at 0% battery. This means that the iPhone’s battery is dead. It’s some bug in the iPhone firmware.

It’s easy to fix this problem, just plug into an electrical outlet, computer recommended with the iPhone USB cable, and let it charge. It will turn back on when it reaches 6% battery.

How To Exit DFU Restore Mode On iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch – So now you have done something wrong to you iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch and stuck in DFU Restore mode during your jailbreak process or whatever it is, and you want to exit DFU Restore mode to go back to normal mode. In DFU Restore mode, you can turn on your device, iTunes keep wanting you to restore your device and so you have to exit it to get back to normal mode.

It’s very simple, plug in your iDevice to your computer, press on the Home & Sleep button at the same time until the Apple logo appear on screen. You can now remove your device from your computer.

Blackmart Alpha – Installous For Android - Previously, I introduced about Aptoide, an app that allow you to download free paid Android apps via a web-based directory call Aptoide Bazaar. Now, there’s another app that does the same trick but with less hassle and that’s Blackmart Alpha, currently inb Alpha version.

To be simple, Blackmart Alpha is just like Installous for Android. As you know, Installous is the app that allows you to download free paid apps on the iPhone iOS platform. Blackmark Alpha is a standalone app that does not require you to add repository. You can find many apps, most of the famous one in it. Paid apps are seen with a strike in the price, meaning it’s free.

Blackmart Alpha also makes updating app easily with just a click. If you ask me to choose between Aptoide and Blackmart, I’ll say both because the apps are not complete, some times I would have to search on both app to see the availability.

Blackmart Alpha is not available in the Market but you can download the APK file here, transfer it to your phone and install it there.

Aptoide – Dowload Free Android Paid Apps – You can actually download paid Android apps for free on your Android device, just like the iPhone, there’s the Installous app. There’s a few method, one is you find the APK file on the net and transfer it to your phone, another is, use Aptoide app!

Long ago, I introduced about APKtor, which is an app that works similarly where you can add repositories which host the APK app file, however with the new Aptoide, you can search on their own market, they called it the Aptoide Bazaar.

In Aptoide Bazaar, you can just search any Android apps you want, it’s just like Installous for Android, but web-based. After you have made your search, you click install and it will run through the Aptoide app that you installed on your device. It will then request your permission to add repository into Aptoide so that you can search within your Aptoide app later.

Now, I have collected many repository, I seldom need to go Aptoide Bazaar. If I do not find the app I want on Aptoide, I will just head over to Aptoide Bazaar and do a search. Easy as that.

Recently, the latest iOS 5 (5.0.1) can be jailbroken in untethered mode, meaning that user will not need to jailbreak everytime they restart the phone with a tethered-mode. However, this applicable to only iPhone 4, iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 4G, iPhone 3GS, but not the iPhone 4S yet.

Here I share the easy way on jailbreaking your iOS iPhone and iDevice which is brought to your by iClarified. This method works for Windows and Mac. Just get the different version of Redsn0w.

1. Download the latest version of RedSn0w from here.

2. Then download the 5.0.1 firmware from Apple. Place them in a same folder so you can find it easily later. (Note: If you are already on 5.0.1, you do not need to download the firmware.

3. Connect you iDevice, iPhone to your computer, launch iTunes.

4. Launch redsn0w application from the redsn0w that you have just downloaded earlier. (Run it in in executable mode as an administrator in Window Vista compatibility. You can do this by right clicking the file and select Properties).

5. In redsn0w, click the Jailbreak button.

6. Follow on screen instruction of redsn0w. It will guide you to DFU mode for jailbreak.

7. Wait for iPhone to reboot, then check Install Cydia options and click Next.

8. Wait for iPhone to reboot again and you are done. You will see Cydia on the Springboard.

Fixed WordPress 3.2.1 Link Problem – I run a few blogs across the Internet and I have updated one of the blog (nickchan.net) to the latest version of WordPress 3.2.1. I was liking the new interface of the admin area until I encounter with a problem during I was writing a blog post. My blog post couldn’t aut0-save and every time I try to hyperlink a phrase, word or image, the whole page refreshes and I have no auto-save draft in my database. This really troubles and annoys me a lot until I found a good solution.

I was thinking of downgrading the WordPress but it seems many works to do. And then I found out that it’s actually one of the plugin which is causing the problem – Disqus Comment System. The solution is pretty simple, go to Disqus’ website, download the latest WordPress plugin and copy it to your ftp server and WordPress is working godlike now. So, the lesson is, have your plugin updated to the latest version all the time.

How To: Install Facebook For iPad App. Few weeks ago, I talked about the leaked and backdoor to get the Facebook for iPad application. It was blocked by Facebook in less then a day and I couldn’t login to the Facebook for iPad app anymore. However, I have found a solution on how to access it and have been using it for a few days already.

Some have ask me where to download the Facebook For iPad app but then you don’t really need to download it as you already have it if you have the latest version of Facebook for iPhone on your iPad. You just need to do some tweak to change your Facebook to the iPad version.

One thing you must have is a JAILBROKEN iPad. Follow the instruction below to get your Facebook for iPad app. (Thanks to TNW).

1. Check for updates to make sure you have the latest version of Facebook from the App Store. Also, backup your iPad in iTunes.
2. Visit jailbreakme.com from your iPad. Jailbreaking your iPad is legal, but voids your warranty if you bring your iPad into an Apple Store. It’s easy to undo if need be. Just pug your iPad into your computer and restore it from your previous backup. (If you are running iOS 4.3.3, this will NOT work.)
3. Once the jailbreak process is complete, tap on Cydia, that was just installed on your iPad.
4. Tap the Search tab in Cydia and search for iFile. Download it using the button in the upper right hand corner.
5. Once iFile installs, open it up, and navigate to the “var” folder of your iPad. Then go to “mobile,” then “applications,” then “directory.”
6. Click the settings gear icon in the bottom navigation bar and turn “Application Names” to “On.”
7. Open the Facebook folder within the “directory” folder you’re inside of. Once you’re inside the Facebook folder, open Facebook.app.
8. Look for the info.plist file, then open it. Pick “Property List Viewver” to view the hexadecimal settings for the Facebook app.
9. Look for the UIDeviceFamily field and select it.
10. Delete the 1 you see, and put a 2 in instead. Tap “Done” to complete the process.
11. Hold down your power button to reboot your iPad.
12. Then go to Cydia again and seach for Faceforward.
13. Download and install it.
14. Launch your new Facebook app and you are now in.

It’s a little bit buggy, Page is not working as it crashes but overall it looks good. But if were to compare to MyPad, MyPad seems better than this. Tell me what do you think after trying it.
