Recently, I am facing a problem using the RoundCorner plugin in my latest SketchUp 2013. Previously, I was mentioning about the plugins problem when moving from old plugins folder to the new one directly, but I did not foresee the problem of RoundCorner plugin in SketchUp 2013. The problem was that it does not give any response when I click on the RoundCorner plugin. The plugin is a very useful tool that I use extensively for interior design and can be said that I can’t live without it.
After looking around for solution, I have found out 2 ways to fix it. The first one is just running the program as Administrator by right clicking on the icon, then Run as Administrator. I wouldn’t recommend this one as this is only a temporary fix that it will be troublesome to use it everytime.
The permanent fix is actually granting the Permissions for Full Control for the Plugins folder. This plays a little bit of hide-and-seek for me to discover the way of granting access and I found it.
- Go to the SketchUp 2013 folder in Program Files folder. Right Click on Plugins folder, then Properties.
- Click on Security tab, then click on Edit…
- Look for the ‘Users’ that you are currently login in, and just check everything that is not check in the Allow column.
- Apply, OK, exit and restart your SketchUp 2013, it suppose to work right now.
This fix also helps fixing other plugins that are not working properly in the new SketchUp 2013 too.
